Citrus trees need lots of water, PLUS, being next to a water hog banana tree, it is dealing with double trouble. I am also going to assume that it does not get fed very often (if at all)?
That is two strikes against it. How much shade is the banana tree throwing? That could possibly be the third strike against getting fruit.
My suggestions:
Get somebody to water it while you are gone.
It is probably needing to be fed about every 6 weeks during the growing season, again, the banana is probably hogging lots of nutrients...I will bet that it is planted in a very sandy soil? Which the nitrogen will leach out of quickly.
If it is not getting at least 7 hours of full sun, unless the banana is producing fruit, cut it down.
Hope that helps!?
Darrenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09174646683640212162noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8051633486819426115.post-13917970067804637342014-05-03T07:32:28.437-07:002014-05-03T07:32:28.437-07:00Hello Darren. As you know, I have a lot of fruit in my little yard, so I'll be on the lookout for anything suspicious. Glad to hear there's a cure on the way. I have numerous vincas in my landscape...I wonder if thier presence creates a landscape immunity?!?! I'd like to think so, anyway. :)Kimberlyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18123627573356760362noreply@blogger.com
